Work Packages
WP1: Project Management
This work package ensures the smooth execution of the project through coordination, monitoring, and reporting activities. It includes organizing meetings, managing communication between partners, maintaining a shared data system, and ensuring timely delivery of results.
WP2: LPSS Acoustic Characterization and Control
WP2 focuses on the core scientific development of the project. It involves setting up the experimental platform, studying how laser-plasma sound sources (LPSS) generate acoustic waves in water, and developing methods to control these waves (e.g., focusing, steering, and frequency tuning). Both experimental and computational approaches are used.
WP3: Thermo-Mechanical Effects of LPSS Ultrasound Beams
This work package studies how the generated ultrasound beams interact with water and tissue-like materials. It investigates both thermal effects (heating) and mechanical effects (such as cavitation or tissue disruption), helping to understand how the technology can be applied in medical contexts.
WP4: Application in Cancer Research
WP4 demonstrates the practical use of the technology by applying LPSS ultrasound beams to cancer-mimicking tissues. It evaluates how effectively the system can produce controlled thermal or mechanical effects, while also assessing safety and impact on surrounding healthy tissue.
WP5: Dissemination and Communication
This work package focuses on sharing the project’s results with the public, scientific community, and stakeholders. It includes creating and maintaining the project website, publishing scientific papers, participating in conferences, and organizing outreach activities to communicate the project’s impact and potential applications.
